WDR Happy Hour – Beethovens Zweite

Ten years ago, the WDR Chamber Players, an internationally acclaimed string ensemble of the WDR Sinfonieorchester, was founded. To mark their anniversary, they are inviting audiences to a special concert – opening with Elgar's Serenade for Strings, which enchants with its spring-like lightness, melodic beauty and verve. The programme then moves from late English Romanticism to Viennese Classicism with Beethoven's Second Symphony. To bring this masterpiece of Viennese Classicism to life, the ensemble is joined by wind instruments and timpani from the WDR Sinfonieorchester.
