Attending events
At the Kölner Philharmonie, you will encounter a diverse world of sound, ranging from classical to modern music. If you already have a ticket or are planning a visit, you will find all the information you need about your concert visit here.
Admission
Admission to the venue begins 60 minutes before the concert. For introductions, we open the venue 15 minutes before the start of the introduction. You can usually take your seat 30 minutes before the concert begins – or as soon as the rehearsal is over.
Photos
Photos, videos and audio recordings are not permitted during concerts. This is for copyright reasons, but also to ensure that all visitors can enjoy the concert without disruption. Would you like a souvenir photo? Feel free to take a photo during the final applause. You are also welcome to share it on social media. #kphil #kölnerphilharmonie. Thank you!
Guided tours
There are currently no regular guided tours scheduled. However, you still have the opportunity to explore the building on a guided tour with friends, family or colleagues. Please send us an email at feedback@koelnmusik.de.
Guided tours are available for groups of 10 to 25 people.
Appointments are made individually on weekdays, depending on the rehearsal schedule.
A small contribution of £5 per person is required. The total amount is to be paid in cash at the end of the tour. You will receive a receipt.
The tours last between 45 and 60 minutes.
The meeting point is at the gate/artists' entrance.
Unfortunately, we reserve the right to reschedule or cancel appointments, as the tours depend on the rehearsal schedule, which is subject to change at short notice.
As a rule, we move through the entire building, so unrestricted mobility is a prerequisite. If you have limited mobility, please inform us in advance and we will see if we can find a solution.
Cloakroom
You can leave your coats and bags at our cloakrooms free of charge at all concerts.
Catering
In the foyer of the Kölner Philharmonie, you can get drinks and often small snacks before concerts and during intermissions. From Tuesday to Sunday, the restaurant »Ludwig im Museum« is also open for you after the concert. You don't even have to leave the building to get there; just take the spiral staircase in the foyer.
Children
Children under the age of 3 are not admitted to regular concerts at the Kölner Philharmonie. Alternatively, we offer a variety of other formats that are specially tailored to the needs and interests of children, including children's concerts, family workshops and neighbourhood concerts.
You can find all the information about our children's and family programmes here.
Air conditioning
Our air conditioning system with fresh air supply is in full operation throughout your stay at the Cologne Philharmonic Hall. The ventilation situation at the Cologne Philharmonic Hall has been rated as very good by the DTHG (Deutsche Theatertechnische Gesellschaft).
Concert duration
We indicate how long a concert lasts and whether there is an interval in the concert details view here on the website and, if there is one, also in the programme booklet.
Programme and cast changes
We do our best to avoid changes to the programme and line-up. However, in individual cases, there may be last-minute changes to the programme and/or line-up, and concerts may also be cancelled at short notice. We therefore recommend that you check our website shortly before your concert visit for any changes to the concert programme or schedule.
Standing room tickets
We offer up to 100 standing room tickets for selected KölnMusik events. Information on the availability of standing room tickets can be found in the ticket information for the respective concert.
Standing room tickets only entitle the holder to access the standing room area. There is no entitlement to the provision of a standing room quota. The regulations for standing room may also differ for promoters other than KölnMusik.
Too late?
Congested roads, delayed buses and trains, stressful days – we are all familiar with these situations. If you are running late, please contact a member of the foyer team. We will endeavour to let you in as soon as possible, but please understand that we want to avoid disrupting ongoing events as much as possible. In exceptional cases, this may mean that you will only be able to take your seat during the interval.
