Teilzeitbeschäftigte:r Mitarbeiter:in in der Foyerteamleitung
We are looking for a
part-time member of staff to lead the foyer team (m/f/d) to start on 1 December 2026.
The part-time role involves an average of 11 hours per week, although the hours may vary depending on demand whilst the salary remains unchanged. The position is initially limited to one year as a ‘probationary management role’ in accordance with the TVöD. A further extension of the fixed-term contract to up to two years is possible, as is a permanent appointment subject to a successful probationary period.
Your responsibilities will include, in particular, managing our foyer team, for whom you will act as the immediate line manager, organising event services, providing on-site support for the Cologne Philharmonic Hall, and standing in for the theatre manager.
In your supervisory role, you will instruct and train the foyer team and ensure that the venue’s regulations are communicated and implemented. You will brief staff on their general and current duties and monitor their work. You know how to motivate staff and inspire them to uphold the high standards of service at the Cologne Philharmonic. You act as the link to external event organisers, the cleaning team, the catering staff and tradespeople. You ensure that the visitor foyer, the concert hall and the adjacent outdoor areas, in particular, are always kept in impeccable condition.
As part of the events team, you will be the main point of contact for our guests, always courteous and knowledgeable. You will also respond calmly and professionally to any unforeseen incidents. You share our aim not only of providing guests with a memorable musical experience, but also of ensuring they feel comfortable throughout their visit. You are highly flexible and fully willing to work evening and weekend shifts, as well as to carry out special tasks.
You will work in close collaboration with the House Stage Manager as part of the foyer team management, ensuring a smooth flow of communication. You will be responsible for standing in for the House Stage Manager in the foyer team management during absences due to holiday or illness, carrying out the following tasks: organisational tasks in the office, drawing up duty rosters, preparing for and following up on concerts both inside and outside the Cologne Philharmonic Hall, handling deliveries, coordinating the CD and merchandising counter, assisting with the venue’s technical matters, and ensuring the recruitment of new staff. This requires a willingness to work extra hours as part of the stand-in duties described.
Ideally, you will have relevant professional experience, particularly in managerial roles. Excellent manners, a friendly manner, a strong service-oriented attitude and natural authority over subordinate staff are essential, as are the ability to work as part of a team and unconditional loyalty. Language skills, particularly in English, are an advantage.
We offer an interesting and responsible role, an attractive salary in line with the TVöD (Public Sector Pay Agreement) with the associated social benefits, and a supplementary pension scheme.
Please submit your detailed application by 14 September 2026 to the Human Resources department or by email to bewerbungen@koelnmusik.de .
