Fascination with Bach Father and son
Double ensemble power for double B: in their programme, the baroque experts from Vox Luminis and the B'Rock Orchestra flank the »Symbolum Nicenum« from Johann Sebastian Bach's »Messe h-Moll« (Mass in B minor) with works by his son Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach.
Composed shortly before his death, Bach's Mass in B minor, his »Opus summum et ultimum«, is both impressive evidence of his compositional mastery in a wide variety of styles and his musical legacy: a work for eternity. B'Rock, known for their fresh and innovative approach to early music, combine this eight-thousander of sacred music with, among other things, a secular symphony by Bach's son, creating meaningful connections between the works. True to the motto of Vox Luminis: reaching the light through music.
