Rising Stars: Elionor Martínez

With their arias and songs, Baroque composers looked deep into the souls of their characters. Elionor Martínez, who has already performed on stage at the Salzburg Festival, brings them to life with her soaring soprano tones.

For example, the heavenly beautiful tones that Handel conjured up on sheet music for his Bellezza. Or the virtuoso embellishments in Monteverdi's »Quel sguardo sdegnosetto« which express the painful fickleness of love. Or Purcell's »Now That the Sun hath Veiled His Light« which touches the listener with its simplicity. The voice of the soprano, born in Barcelona in 1996, is carried by the sonorous sound of the theorbo and the gallant playing of the lute. An authentic soundscape, so to speak, for the singer-songwriters of yesteryear.
