»Sieben Samurai«

The choreographed drumming skills of Japanese taiko drummers leave you simply speechless in view of their thrilling virtuosity and athleticism. Seven such taiko drummers now form a spectacular ensemble together with the musicians of the Waseda Symphony Orchestra Tokyo. 

The new work ‘Seven Samurai’, inspired by Akira Kurosawa's cult film of the same name, can be experienced. The musical bridge between tradition and art music is part of the internationally acclaimed profile of the Waseda Symphony Orchestra Tokyo. This is also reflected in the pure orchestral works. Yuzo Toyama's ‘Rhapsody’ is based on themes from Japanese folk songs. And Gustav Holst's ‘The Planets’ invites you on a grand orchestral journey into the universe!
