Bundesjugendorchester | Cornelius Meister

Rachmaninow | Schostakowitsch
An orchestra (Bundesjugendorchester) performing classical music. Several young musicians focus on their instruments, mainly violins, during a performance.

Talents of tomorrow: Germany’s youngest top orchestra visits

Germany's youngest top orchestra is a talent factory like no other: The Bundesjugendorchester is bursting with energy and joy of playing and serves as a cultural ambassador around the world. It also regularly performs in Cologne.

The brilliant young musicians are between 14 and 19 years old. Rehearsals are filled with laughter – yet this elite orchestra remains highly focused and extremely professional. Only the best of the best make it into the BJO. In Shostakovich's colorful Fifth Symphony, the young talents can demonstrate their full capabilities. And in Rachmaninoff's Symphonic Dances, which the composer himself called his finest work, the BJO begins to dance.
