Bach: Brandenburgisches Konzert Nr. 5

Magnificent Baroque concerts: Vivaldi & Bach in their original sound
With three concerts, the experts of the original sound ensemble Concerto Köln shed light on one of the most important genres of Baroque music. And with works by Vivaldi and Bach, two fixed stars in the Concerto sky, they live up to their name.
With the twelve concertos of his famous Opus 3 »L'Estro Armonico«, Vivaldi not only became famous overnight, but also impressed Johann Sebastian Bach, who was a few years his junior. Bach, in turn, also created brilliant masterpieces with his six Brandenburg Concertos, which are overwhelming in their flow of ideas and variety of instrumental combinations. The Brandenburg Concerto No. 5, for example, comes across as a disguised harpsichord concerto, played by the sound magician Olga Pashchenko on the fortepiano.
