Rising Stars: Javus Quartett

From Salzburg to the world: the Javus Quartet captivates audiences with emotion and precision
With perfect technique and an enormous range in dynamics and timbre, the still young Javus Quartet provides the finest listening pleasure in the »premier league of chamber music«. Their playing is fresh and full of energy, and at the same time astonishingly mature in their blind understanding of each other's playing.
With Shostakovich's String Quartet No. 8, the four have put a deeply moving work on the program: written as his own requiem in times of great fear of persecution by the Soviet regime. Meanwhile, Grażyna Bacewicz's Third String Quartet offers a wonderful opportunity to rediscover the most important Polish composer of the 20th century. Incidentally, the name of the ensemble plays on the word »Juvavum« the Latin name for Salzburg, where the quartet was founded.
Rising Stars is a project of the European Concert Hall Organisation (ECHO). The Javus Quartet was nominated by the Wiener Konzerthaus, Musikverein Wien, and Elbphilharmonie Hamburg.
