Rising Stars: Ava Bahari

From Bach to Ysaÿe – Ava Bahari takes on the challenge of solo violin
As a young artist, you have to be brave to stand alone on stage for an entire concert. That's exactly what rising star Ava Bahari does with a program that consists exclusively of works for solo violin. Hats off to her courage!
Bach's Partita No. 2 in D minor is something of an eight-thousander among works for solo violin: a pinnacle of violinistic brilliance and expressive depth. No less challenging, however, is the solo sonata that Eugène Ysaÿe composed for the legendary Fritz Kreisler's nimble fingers. So it's good that Ava Bahari, born in Gothenburg in 1996, has a prominent partner at her side in the form of a violin by Antonio Stradivari.
Rising Stars is a project of the European Concert Hall Organisation (ECHO). Ava Bahari was nominated by Konserthuset Stockholm, Cité de la musique – Philharmonie de Paris, and NOSPR Katowice.
