For 2nd classes
»King kommt noch«
‘King kommt noch’ is a musical story about arriving in a foreign country. Over a period of three months, 300 Year 2 pupils work on the piece ‘King kommt noch’ (2018), composed by Ulrich Kreppein, under the guidance of vocal coaches, which is performed at the end of the project in two concerts together with the Gürzenich Orchestra Cologne.
The boy has been in this new country for a few days, where everything is very different from home. The whole family has come with him and now lives together in a single room: mum and dad and the baby; only King, the boy's beloved dog, is not there. Not yet, because ‘King is still coming’, says mum, and so the boy passes the waiting time by taking a close look at his new surroundings. He tells King all the oddities he discovers on his wind phone. For example, why do they put dog poo in bags here? Why can't he and his parents read anything in the new country? And who is the woman from the yoga yoghurt shop or the woman with the blue light? It's all very strange.
The story is based on the book of the same name by Andrea Karimé. Comprehensive material supports teachers in preparing and supervising the project in their classes and invites pupils to take a closer look at the themes of the work. Making their own costume (props) is also part of the creative project.
