Curtain up for chamber music featuring the best of a generation! All three are in their early thirties and have rapidly conquered audiences worldwide: Isang Enders goes first, performing the Fifth Suite for cello by Johann Sebastian Bach (the cellist already presented a recording of the complete cycle, that Olympus of baroque instrumental music). Following this, the violin virtuoso Veronika Eberle and Igor Levit, the forward-looking and deeply spiritual pianist, devote themselves to the first sonata by the great Bach admirer Ferruccio Busoni, filled with future-oriented late romanticism. Finally, all three join together for Franz Schubert’s Trio in E-flat-Major, in which longing, pain and passion are equally fathomed. Schubert was well aware of this composition’s value and self-confidently announced it to his publisher: “This work is dedicated to no one except those whom it pleases.”
