Jakub Józef Orliński is a darling of the gods: expressive as a countertenor and as a breakdancer. Surrounded by an illustrious group of young vocal soloists, he presents an expressive vocal work that lay dormant in a library for almost 300 years: Alessandro Stradella's ‘San Giovanni Battista’.

Situated at the intersection of opera and sacred drama, Stradella's San Giovanni Battista (John the Baptist) is a colourful oratorio that does without a choir and makes do with a small instrumental ensemble. With young, highly talented singers, it becomes a Baroque treat, especially in the lively interpretation of the original sound ensemble Il Pomo d'Oro under the baton of award-winning conductor and harpsichordist Francesco Corti.
