Mozart: Sinfonia concertante

Mozart’s Sinfonia concertante & contemporary musical highlights – an evening full of energy
With his Sinfonia concertante, Mozart achieved the perfect synthesis of symphony and solo concerto. Violin and viola, united in lively dialogue, lead us from the dream world of the beginning through the heartache of the slow movement to the sky-storming finale.
The excellent virtuosos of the Kammerakademie Neuss are always open to innovative concert formats, as they demonstrate beforehand with »Moz-Art à la Haydn«. In this work, Alfred Schnittke combines Mozart fragments and echoes of Haydn's Farewell Symphony with the chaos of modernity with black humor: virtuosic, ironic, and thoughtful. At the beginning, Grażyna Bacewicz combines French elegance with the rustic folk music of Eastern Europe in her Divertimento. But even here, the »tritone«, the »devil in music«, is already up to mischief.
