Schuberts Große C-Dur-Sinfonie

Schubert in his original sound, full of virtuosity and heavenly expansiveness
The Freiburger Barockorchester and Spanish conductor Pablo Heras-Casado have amazed audiences with their Schumann and Mendelssohn cycles. This dream team of original sound continues its romantic adventure with Franz Schubert's symphonies, culminating in the fantastically beautiful Symphony in C major.
First, Schubert, an admirer of Rossini, is celebrated in the finest Italian style. French soprano Julie Fuchs shines in Rossini's cantata ‘La morte di Didone’. And with Schubert's C major symphony, we finally experience one of the greatest wonders of music history. ‘Anyone who does not know this symphony knows little about Schubert,’ Robert Schumann also raved about this stroke of genius and all its ‘heavenly lengths’.
