From the Metropolitan Opera’s Young Artists Programme to the ensemble of the Bavarian State Opera: Erika Baikoff has long demonstrated her ability to shine on the lieder stage, as evidenced by her First Prize at the Helmut Deutsch Lieder Competition.

With her debut at the Kölner Philharmonie, the Russian-American soprano demonstrates her penchant for sophisticated programmes that are as multifaceted as her lyrical and radiantly youthful soprano voice. Her recital takes the audience on a journey from the Romantic composer Schumann, through the two composer-pianists Sergei Rachmaninoff and Nikolaj Medtner – who skilfully showcased their instrument in their lieder as well – to the songs of Samuel Barber.
