Borodin Quartet
Brahms | Rachmaninow | Tschaikowsky
Kölner Philharmonie

Tradition, change and timelessly moving string quartet artistry since 1945
It is one of the longest-standing string quartet formations in the world and has regularly renewed itself over the course of 80 years. The Borodin Quartet stands for both tradition and change and is a delightful exception in the fast-paced music business.
In 1945, a musical era began in the former Soviet Union, the significance of which no one could have predicted at the time. Today, the Borodin Quartet has long since changed its line-up, but the spirit of that era has been preserved in a certain way, even if the sound is different. Today, as then, the Borodin Quartet succeeds in penetrating the music in the deepest, most moving way possible. »We can only produce the sound from within.« What sounds simple is in fact a great art.
