WDR Happy Hour – Divine Game

It is a reaching for the stars, a longing for the infinite, that Alexander Scriabin ignites in his music. His third Symphony bears the title »Le Divin Poème« – the Divine Poem. In opulent sonic language, it tells of humanity’s awakening, of breaking free from earthly bonds: darkness dissolves into light, doubt transforms into ecstatic dance. Scriabin unfolds a mythical hero’s journey as an orchestral ascent to the heavens. The tone poem is conducted by the Latvian maestro Andris Poga, a familiar guest of the WDR Symphony Orchestra.
