Rising Stars: Trio Concept

In 2013, three musicians formed an ensemble in Turin and named it Trio Chagall. A good ten years later, they decided to change the name to reflect their artistic development. As Trio Concept, they are now continuing their success story.

According to the trio, the new name was inspired by the famous painter and sculptor Michelangelo. Just as the sculptor reveals the perfect form hidden within a block of marble in his work, the trio members seek to uncover the beauty inherent in each piece in their interpretations. The musical marble blocks of their programme include Maurice Ravel's brilliant piano trio, two of the last works by the talented Lili Boulanger, who died tragically young, and Alfredo Casella's new work, freshly modelled from the score.
