Rising Stars: Petar Pejčić & Nour Ayadi

Rising Star Petar Pejčić has named his program »For Slava!« – paying tribute to one of the most important cellists in music history: Mstislav Rostropovich, known for his technical brilliance and powerful emotion.

Slava, as his friends called him, had close friendships with composers such as Shostakovich. The tango legend Astor Piazzolla wrote the passionate »Grand Tango« for him. With the fast-paced »Humoresque«, a virtuoso test for every cellist, we also experience Rostropovich as a veritable composer. And, like his great role model, Petar Pejčić is also expanding the repertoire for his instrument with a new work by Djuro Živković. The whole thing is a very personal tribute to his idol!

Rising Stars is a project of the European Concert Hall Organisation (ECHO). Petar Pejčić was nominated by the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, Konzerthaus Dortmund, and Palau de la Música Catalana.
