London Philharmonic Orchestra

A Wonderful World
Beethoven never fails to surprise us. Again and again. He does this particularly well at the beginning of his Fourth Piano Concerto, with arguably some of the most beautiful opening bars ever written. As we hear the first notes, a whole new world opens up. With Alice Sara Ott at the keyboard, this world promises to be truly magical.
She has both German and Japanese roots and loves to inspire us with visionary projects created in cooperation with jazz musicians and video artists. However, she is always drawn back to Beethoven and her pianistic origins, where her technical brilliance and pure stylistic elegance enable her to reveal the full depth of his incredible music. After the interval, in complete contrast to Beethoven’s concerto, the London Philharmonic Orchestra will take their audience on a musical journey through the snow-covered, melancholic and magnificent landscapes of Sibelius’ Fifth Symphony.
