Jörg Widmann | Isabelle Faust | Jean-Guihen Queyras | Pierre-Laurent Aimard

Messiaen's Quartet for the End of Time with Aimard, Widmann, Faust and Queyras – a magical moment!
There are casts and programme constellations that are so unique that one can confidently speak of a magical moment: four impressive musical personalities, a timeless musical masterpiece about the vision of the end of time – this is not to be missed.
Olivier Messiaen's »Quatuor pour la fin du temps« (»Quartet for the End of Time«), written and premiered in the middle of the Second World War under dramatic circumstances, became a key work of 20th-century chamber music. Hearing it here and now in the Kölner Philharmonie with the luminaries Pierre-Laurent Aimard and Jörg Widmann, with the exceptional musicians Isabelle Faust and Jean-Guihen Queyras, is a special moment and a wonderful testimony to Franco-German friendship in music. Further repertoire gems by Boulez, Ravel and Berg complete the programme: this is something you have to experience live!
