Große Meister – Janowski & Zimmermann

Frank Peter Zimmermann | WDR Sinfonieorchester | Marek Janowski: Beethoven
Ludwig van Beethoven's violin concerto sounds soulful, exuberant and embracing. Few celebrate it as much as violinist Frank Peter Zimmermann. Some time ago, the highly acclaimed exceptional musician even wrote a letter to the late composer. In it he wrote: »Dear Ludwig, without your music, life would be poorer.« The evening will be rounded off with Beethoven's First Symphony, which sparkles with youthful boldness and captivates listeners with its fresh spirit from the very first note.
Due to a technical malfunction in the Cologne Philharmonic Hall building complex, the rehearsal process of the WDR Symphony Orchestra has had to be adjusted. As a result, the concert programme has been changed: instead of Max Reger's Mozart Variations, Ludwig van Beethoven's Symphony No. 1 will be performed in the second half.
