Great love – Marie Jacquot & die Jussen brothers

The programme for this concert spans a spectrum from magical romanticism to the vibrant present: first, Carl Maria von Weber's overture to the opera »Oberon« transports the audience to a world of fairy magic and knightly adventures. This is followed by Finnish composer Magnus Lindberg's Concerto for Two Pianos and Orchestra, written especially for the WDR Sinfonieorchester – a work tailor-made for the young Dutch piano duo Lucas & Arthur Jussen. Finally, Prokofiev's suite from the fairy-tale ballet Cinderella enchants the audience with its tale of blossoming love and dreams finally coming true.
