Of Cabbages And Kings | Sophie Emilie Beha: Kinsella | M’Boup | Morscher | Totenhagen
The neo-a cappella ensemble Of Cabbages And Kings presents its new programme, ‘Concurrency’. The title means ‘simultaneity’ – and that is exactly what it is about: four very different voices with their own preferences and timbres come together and become a shared musical whole.
‘Concurrency’ was created in a special working process: an idea was introduced by one singer and then developed further by another, supplemented or provided with new lyrics, until a joint work emerged. In this way, the different perspectives of the four musicians found their way into the compositions – and formed pieces that sound as diverse as they are cohesive.
This idea is continued on stage: sometimes a voice is heard solo, sometimes all together, sometimes amplified by effects and sometimes purely acoustic.
‘Concurrency’ is a concert full of contrasts and harmonies – an experience for everyone aged 12 and over who wants to discover the voice in all its colours and possibilities.
The Kölner Familenfestival is made possible by Sparkasse KölnBonn.
