»Battle Vivaldi«

Antonio Vivaldi could hardly have imagined this: his »Four Seasons« danced as a mix of breakdance and hip-hop. Vivaldi's virtuoso masterpiece meets street dance. And exceptional violinist Julien Chauvin inspires the talented dancers of Compagnie Käfig to give their best.

»We want to give the piece we know so well a new meaning, take a fresh look at it,« says Julien Chauvin, baroque violinist and director of Le Concert de la Loge. A lively dialogue creates a connection between Vivaldi's rhythms and the dancers’ acrobatic movements. In this way, musicians and dancers together build a bridge from the baroque to the present. Movement becomes audible, music becomes visible – innovative costumes and lighting design included.
