The small, exquisite Baroque ensemble Le Consort from France transports the Kölner Phiharmonie from the Rhine to the Grand Canal in Venice in the blink of an eye. With vocal prodigy and mezzo-soprano Adèle Charvet at their centre, the musicians bring the legendary Venetian Teatro Sant'Angelo back to life.

Many operas by Vivaldi and his fellow composers premiered at the Teatro Sant'Angelo near the Rialto Bridge in Venice, a small, chaotic and highly successful theatre that was the focal point of opera in the 18th century. The award-winning young French mezzo-soprano Adèle Charvet has put together a varied programme of arias by Vivaldi and his contemporaries with the instrumentalists of the ensemble Le Consort to bring the Teatro Sant'Angelo back to life musically.
