Many operas by Vivaldi and his fellow composers premiered at the Teatro Sant'Angelo near the Rialto Bridge in Venice, a small, chaotic and highly successful theatre that was the focal point of opera in the 18th century. The award-winning young French mezzo-soprano Adèle Charvet has put together a varied programme of arias by Vivaldi and his contemporaries with the instrumentalists of the ensemble Le Consort to bring the Teatro Sant'Angelo back to life musically.
