Vivaldi »The Four Seasons«

Bach | Biber | Corelli | Vivaldi
Antonio Vivaldi’s »The Four Seasons« rank among the earliest and most striking examples of programmatic music: natural phenomena are rendered vividly in sound — right down to the chattering of teeth in the cold. Deeply embedded in popular culture and present in films, television series, and advertising, the work has lost none of its suggestive power to this day.
Estonian violinist Hans Christian Aavik won first prize at the International Carl Nielsen Violin Competition in 2022. Gramophone magazine hailed him as a »One to Watch«, praising his »profound intellect and curiosity« as well as his »extroverted charisma«. Aavik plays a violin by Giovanni Paolo Maggini, made around 1610 in Brescia. He shares a long-standing collaboration with the Württemberg Chamber Orchestra Heilbronn as a Young Artist.
