Jazz, Bernstein and Gershwin – a New Year's Eve full of rhythm, wit and poetry

Jazz and lively strings, Gershwin songs, and even a cool fugue by Lenny Bernstein – these are some of the musical ingredients with which the Gürzenich-Orchester Köln invites you to its New Year's Eve concert! Conductor Juya Shin will be at the conductor's podium. And don't miss the performance of the wonderful soprano Masabane Cecilia Rangwanasha!

The best entertainment is guaranteed with the selected works with which English and American composers made musical theater history. Thomas Adès landed an immediate worldwide hit with his first opera, »Powder Her Face«. William Walton combined dry wit and wonderful pathos for his burlesque »Façade«. And the coups of Leonard Bernstein (»West Side Story«) and George Gershwin (»Porgy and Bess«) are also musically vibrant! The year 2026, come!
