With »Rock the Opera«, conductor Friedemann Riehle combines classical orchestral sound with rock music.
The programme was originally developed for concerts at the Vienna State Opera. Together with orchestra and band, well-known rock songs are presented in symphonic arrangements without losing their original character. In May 2027, »Rock the Opera« returns to the Cologne Philharmonie with a new programme. Rock vocalists, band and symphony orchestra shape an evening that explores the space between classical music and rock.
