Regarded as one of the most popular works in music history, the Second Piano Concerto by Sergei Rachmaninov has long since become a fixture of film, popular culture, and collective memory. Likewise, the Nutcracker Suite by Tchaikovsky continues to resonate across generations as a musical symbol of Christmas.

The Macedonian pianist Simon Trpčeski, a distinguished interpreter of the Russian piano repertoire, performs together with the Staatskapelle Weimar. Among the orchestra’s former conductors are figures such as Johann Sebastian Bach, Franz Liszt, and Richard Strauss.
