Mozarts »Jupiter-Sinfonie« & Mendelssohns »Italienische«

Estonian Sinfonietta Tallinn | Maria Seletskaya
An orchestra performs on a large stage in an elegant concert hall with tall columns. Conductor stands before the musicians.

Mendelssohn Bartholdy | Mozart | Tschaikowsky

Two symphonic masterpieces stand in dialogue with one another: Mozart’s »Jupiter Symphony« and the »Italian Symphony« by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy. Though composed in different eras, they reveal fascinating parallels as well as striking contrasts. Together, they frame the Rococo Variations – a refined homage to Viennese Classicism.

Estonia’s contemporary music scene, centred on its capital Tallinn, is marked by a remarkable concentration of outstanding orchestras and ensembles. The Estonian Sinfonietta, led by its principal conductor Maria Seletskaia, ranks among the country’s leading musical ambassadors. The Estonian cellist Marcel Johannes Kits has also received multiple awards and enjoys growing international recognition.
