Peter Kofler & Dorothee Oberlinger

The recorder »queen« Dorothee Oberlinger and the South Tyrolean organist Peter Kofler are internationally sought-after soloists thanks to their virtuosity and musical curiosity. Nevertheless, for years they have regularly found time to embark on a musical »Grand Tour« together. In doing so, they span the spectrum from the Middle Ages to the present day, from Hildegard von Bingen to Bach and Martin Herchenröder, performing solo and duo works.

Their blissful ability to »sing« in unison is demonstrated, for example, in a famous Händel aria arranged for recorder and organ. Dorothee Oberlinger and Peter Kofler also play off each other with great virtuosity, for example, in a Vivaldi concerto. In between, they present a new work by Henze student Martin Herchenröder, which the musicians of today's concert commissioned themselves. And their solo performances are astonishing. A meditation on the religious significance of Jesus Christ by the eminent organ composer Olivier Messiaen is followed by Dorothee Hahne's »commentari III«, which turns out to be an exciting electro-acoustic journey through time, also for Renaissance recorder and playback tape.
