Marie Jacquot – Bruckners Siebte

Thomas Ospital | WDR Sinfonieorchester | Marie Jacquot
Kölner Philharmonie

Thomas Ospital | WDR Sinfonieorchester | Marie Jacquot: Alain | Bruckner | Händel

Future chief conductor Marie Jacquot is coming to Cologne with a space-filling classic. In the summer of 2026, the Frenchwoman will take over the helm of the WDR Symphonieorchester. She is already fuelling anticipation with Anton Bruckner's Seventh. The symphony electrifies with its sky-storming élan. Bruckner himself was a church musician and draws the instruments of the orchestra like the registers of an organ. The combination with works for the »queen of instruments«; is therefore obvious. That is why Parisian organist Thomas Ospital enriches the programme with music by Handel and Jehan Alain.
