Passion – Adam Fischer & Haydn

Dorottya Láng | Gábor Bretz | WDR Sinfonieorchester | Adam Fischer
A musician plays a horn in an orchestra. He is wearing a suit and smiling while holding his instrument.

Born in Budapest, Adam Fischer is one of the most important conductors of our time and enjoys great renown as a Haydn specialist. Together with the WDR Sinfonieorchester, he dedicates himself to Haydn's »London Symphony« No. 103 – famous for its opening timpani solo, which earned it the nickname »with the timpani roll«. Béla Bartók's fairy-tale short opera »Bluebeard's Castle« captivates with its musical and psychological depth: Judith, the Duke's lover, reveals seven secrets of the mysterious ruler one after the other and penetrates deep into his soul – a fascinating parable about love and human abysses.
