Gunther Rost & Alinde Quartett

Both the award-winning organist Gunther Rost and the equally acclaimed Alinde Quartet love to take a fresh, unexpected look at the repertoire. This is also the case with the world premiere of ‘SLEEP NO MORE’, which SJ Hanke composed for organ and string quartet.

Musically, it crackles with energy. After all, the piece revolves around Shakespeare's regicide Macbeth, who is punished for his deeds with insomnia. Gunther Rost also presents himself wide awake and highly virtuosic with the organ solo works. He bridges the gap from Bach to the French Bach enthusiast Charles-Marie Widor, who crowned his 5th Organ Symphony with an intoxicating toccata in 1880.
