Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Symphony in E flat major, K. 543, is characterised by great clarity and inner tension. Completed in Vienna in 1788, the work is one of the composer’s final three symphonies and marks a pinnacle of his symphonic achievement.

The concert centres on Mozart’s Requiem in D minor, K. 626, as completed by Franz Xaver Süßmayr. Mozart’s last, unfinished work unites dramatic power with consoling intimacy. Here unfolds a music of timeless expressive force that speaks beyond religious boundaries of mortality, solace, and transcendence.
