Mozart: Requiem

Elena So | Sibylla Maria Löbbert | Felix Läpple | Lucas Singer | Concert-Chor Concordia Hürth | Kammerphilharmonie Rhein-Erft | Christian Letschert-Larsson: Mozart

With the Symphony in E-flat major KV 543, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart opens a concert of remarkable clarity and inner tension. Completed in Vienna in 1788, the work is one of the composer’s final three symphonies and marks a pinnacle of his symphonic achievement.

At the heart of the concert lies the Requiem in D minor KV 626, in the completion by Franz Xaver Süßmayr. Mozart’s last, unfinished work unites dramatic power with consoling intimacy. Here unfolds a music of timeless expressive force that speaks beyond religious boundaries of mortality, solace, and transcendence.
