Bomb disposal operation in Deutz: traffic disruption possible around the Kölner Philharmonie

On Thursday, 6 August, an unexploded bomb from the Second World War was found in the River Rhine near the Rheinpark in Deutz. According to the City of Cologne, it is a 5-zentner American bomb, which is due to be defused today.

An evacuation zone with a radius of 400 metres will be established for the defusing operation. This may lead to traffic disruption and restrictions in the vicinity of the Kölner Philharmonie.

As things stand, the bridges over the Rhine and rail services are not affected by the operation.
