Experiencing music for the first time with the class – at the Kölner Philharmonie!
In this primary school workshop, pupils can look forward to a varied musical experience: after a group warm-up, they’ll meet ensembles who use their instruments to tell exciting stories, whilst revealing the odd secret or two about their music.
The pupils will also get involved musically in the lead-up to and after the concert. Back at school, the whole class gets in the mood for the concert with an interactive musical video. For the journey home, every child also receives a craft bag, allowing them to creatively reflect on the concert experience.

A heroine is needed: the light of the world is fading, and the sun is in danger of going out. A mysterious villain seems determined to plunge the world into darkness.
With the help of the trolls, many clever forest animals and the somewhat scatterbrained fairy Kunigunde, the brave Mariam sets off on her journey. Together, they embark on an adventurous journey through the Enchanted Forest – in search of the legendary magic tree. For only this tree possesses the power to restore the lost light.
The ColLAB Cologne ensemble from the Cologne University of Music and Dance embarks on a magical journey with a collage of works ranging from Stravinsky to the present day.
To get them in the mood for the concert, school classes are provided with a musical interactive video in advance. At the Cologne Philharmonic Hall, a group warm-up takes place in the auditorium before the concert, and after the concert, all classes receive craft bags at the exit to take home.

In this interactive concert four very different people meet. At first glance, they don’t seem to fit together at all. Each of them actually feels quite comfortable on their own – because that way, they can do exactly what they like best.
But then they meet. At first they’re surprised: ‘You’re completely different from me!’ There might even be a few minor arguments. But then something exciting happens: they listen to one another and realise that, together, they can create something entirely new.
Join in and discover together, through music, rhythm and movement, how wonderful it is to be different and yet belong together.
To get in the mood for the concert, there’s a musical interactive video for the school class to watch beforehand. At the Kölner Philharmonie, there’ll be a group warm-up in the auditorium before the concert. And after the concert, all classes will receive craft bags at the exit to take home.
Registration information
Duration: approx. 60 minutes, starting at 11:00
Costs: € 5,- per pupil: incl. VRS ticket. For every 10 pupils, 2 accompanying persons receive free admission.
Please note: Places on the event will be allocated by lottery from among all registrations once the registration deadline has passed. Once your registration has been confirmed, we will send you your tickets and the invoice for the participation fees.
