Sehnsucht – Isabelle Faust & Mendelssohn

Isabelle Faust, one of today's most impressive violinists, sums it up perfectly: »Every time, it's about conveying the magic of music in the moment.« The current »Artist in Residence« of the WDR Simfonieorchester presents Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy's Violin Concerto in this concert. The work has everything to make music fans' hearts beat faster: warming lyricism, breathtaking virtuosity and intoxicating sonic splendour. Robert Schumann was a close friend of Mendelssohn. Isabelle Faust also interprets his exciting violin fantasy before Schubert's mysterious »Unvollendete« (Unfinished) concludes the concert conducted by British conductor Andrew Manze.
