Mosaicollective
An interdisciplinary performance about the hidden life within the earth
Something is growing! With music, images and theatre, »Radikinas« (Sardinian for »roots«) tells the story of a seed that is carried by the wind, falls to the earth and is absorbed by it. The seed transforms and begins to grow. Beneath the earth, a habitat emerges, invisible but pulsating, inhabited by various creatures, each of which plays a role in the life cycle of the others.
In a poetic and playful way, the connection between humans and nature can be experienced, and our awareness of sustainability and our responsibility as part of a global community can be sharpened.
With traditional songs and original compositions, influenced by music from South America, Europe and Africa.
The story is inspired by, among other things, Sibylle von Olfer's children's book »Etwas von den Wurzelkindern« (Something About the Root Children) and the work of Sardinian artist Maria Lai.
A production by Mosaicollective & La Botte e il Cilindro
Realised with the kind support of: Elbphilharmonie Hamburg (DE) | Academia de Marvão (PT) | Goethe Institut | B.O.T.A (PT) | Fondazione di Sardegna (IT)
