Festive Christmas Singing

A cherished tradition at the Kölner Philharmonie: On the day before Christmas Eve, the Cologne concert choirs once again invite audiences to the Festive Christmas Singing. Featuring choral music from five centuries and from nearly every part of the world, the programme traces a broad musical arc through Advent and Christmas.

Listening is only part of the experience. Audience members are warmly invited to join in singing well-known Christmas carols, creating a shared musical moment that sets the tone for the festive days ahead. This year’s programme is shaped by the Choir of the Bach-Verein Köln, the Gürzenich-Chor Köln von 1827, and the Kölner Kurrende.
