A musical and literary kaleidoscope centred on the famous artist couple Alma and Gustav Mahler

The relationship between Gustav Mahler and his »Almschi«, as he used to call his wife, could hardly have been more turbulent and difficult, and in today's context would probably be considered toxic. Both endowed with a distinctly strong will and ample vanity, they entered into a marriage marked by creativity, talent, jealousy, resentment and yet deep love. 

The works that emerged from this relationship between two eccentric geniuses have endured to this day and form the basis for a programme that sheds light on the Mahler couple's life and work together and makes it accessible. This evening will feature a musical and literary diversity that is at least as fascinating and engaging as the lives of Alma and Gustav Mahler themselves.
