Concert-Chor Concordia Hürth

Elena So | Chieko Kinugasa | Sandra Gerlach | Emanuela Musso | Sebastian Seitz | Concert-Chor Concordia Hürth | Kammerphilharmonie Rhein-Erft | Christian Letschert-Larsson: Fauré | Mozart | Schumann
This concert with the Kamerphilharmonie Rhein-Erft and the Concert Chor Concordia Hürth focuses on two requiem settings, but the concert opens with an interpretation of Mozart's G minor symphony from 1788.
This is followed by Robert Schumann's »Requiem für Mignon« Op. 98b, based on the text from Goethe's novel »Wilhelm Meister«. In his romantic musical language, Schumann does not focus on a musical reproduction of the exact sequence of scenes from the original, but rather on the interpretation of feelings and moods.
Another requiem concludes the concert. It is a work imbued with gentle sorrow and inner peace. Fauré's idea of the afterlife seems to be more of a peaceful and quiet farewell.
