Adrenalina and Prettybabyflo play seriously entertaining music, provoking contradictions. They undermine binarities by placing contrasting positions – for example progressivity and nostalgia, euphoria and melancholy – alongside each other as equal partners. As subjects of post-modernism, rhizomatic failures and levellers of time-bound media, the queer DJ and author and the curator met as humorous and thematic representatives of interest groups such as »Das sogenannte Establishment« (Hannover) or »Maquillage« (Bremen). For the opening of the Lounge, they evoke a past which never existed. This makes the present sound simultaneously »new« and »old«.
