Discover and experience music – at home and in the main hall of the Kölner Philharmonie

Our family workshops invite children and their families on a musical journey that extends far beyond simply attending a concert – from the comfort of their own homes right into the main hall of the Kölner Philharmonie. The programme is aimed particularly (but not exclusively) at families who would like to experience a concert at the Philharmonie together for the first time: through playful and age-appropriate activities, it prepares children for the concert and builds their excitement for the shared musical experience.

Even before the concert, families can get into the spirit of the event together at home with an interactive musical video. At the Kölner Philharmonie, the journey continues with a group warm-up in the auditorium, before children and their families enjoy the subsequent concert, where ensembles use their instruments to tell exciting stories whilst revealing the odd secret or two about their music. After the concert, every child receives a craft bag to take home at the exit.

The family workshops last approximately 60 minutes and start at 11.00 and 13.00 respectively.
