Martynas Levickis
The Knights

»Captivating enthusiasm«
Let yourself be carried away: from accordion star Martynas Levickis across the Atlantic and back to Europe. He shares Lithuanian roots with Philip Glass and Aaron Copland, and a fascination with jazz with George Gershwin.
For his musical journey to North America, Martynas Levickis is accompanied by the New York ensemble The Knights, led by brothers Colin and Eric Jacobsen, who are the best possible partners: enthusiastic and always open to new ideas, they love to mix classical music with folk and jazz elements and create exciting programmes, just like Martynas Levickis. The focus is on Gershwin's »Rhapsody in Blue«, one of the first works to make jazz suitable for the concert hall. Today it is an absolute classic!
