Good music is always in tune with the times. Every era. The trio of three members of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra will surprise listeners with a refreshingly new perspective on works by Beethoven, Glinka and Haydn, while the arrangement for a quartet with Baroque instrumentation makes the compositional sophistication of Bach's Goldberg Variations particularly transparent.

And exceptional violinist Frank Peter Zimmermann, in a duo with Dmytro Choni on the piano, places Franz Schubert in direct connection with the Viennese School around Schönberg, Berg and Webern. Composed in 1941 while the Frenchman was interned in a German prisoner-of-war camp, the piece became an integral part of global remembrance culture. Inspired by the text of the biblical Apocalypse, this timeless work points beyond time into eternity.
