Yefim Bronfman | Israel Philharmonic Orchestra | Lahav Shani

Portrait Shani Lavi
Concentrated musicality on the podium! Nothing less can be expected when legendary keyboard virtuoso Yefim Bronfman meets young star conductor Lahav Shani, who has been successfully leading the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra for five years.
As chief conductor of this traditional orchestra, Shani joins forces with master pianist Bronfman to present a central work in music history: Beethoven's Fifth Piano Concerto, in which the freedom-loving composer led festive, rebellious sounds through dreamlike worlds to jubilant certainty. Tschaikowskys Fifth Symphony, interwoven with sounds of fate, also strives jubilantly and ultimately vehemently towards confidence through irrepressible passion and waltzing longing.
